Siberian Iris

This may be the most beautiful dried flower we have ever grown! Unlike Bearded iris, which just shrivels instead of drying, Siberian iris dries beautifully if picked at the right moment, just before peak, so open blooms continue to unfurl during the drying process. The ethereal flowers dry to a tissue-paper texture with artistic shapes and forms. The concentrated deep blue-purple pigment is intense and dramatic. Delicate veining is visible in the central translucent areas of the petals of dark purple Caesar’s Brother, and clearly visible on a lighter ground in the paler Shaker’s Prayer variety. Stems have one or two blooms, or one full bloom and one long, slender bud; and a few have interesting pods developing as well for an individual, artisan feel.
